Speaking of ancient buildings in the world, it's always interesting to listen. Especially if the history has not been revealed and become a mystery, it certainly makes everyone speculate on their own. Many ancient building that we don't know if their exist has wonderful history beyond that.

According to genetic and fossil studies, humans existed on earth about 200,000 years ago. Humans themselves continue to experience evolution when creating objects and structures from the Mesolithic and Neolithic eras.

There are several examples where human settlements and civilizations leave no clues about their creation. Lately, geologists, archaeologists and scientists have discovered several sites and structures dating from thousands of years ago.

Of all the buildings found, it turns out that there is still a question whose purpose is made. Even today, there are many people who believe these ancient buildings were not made by humans.

1. Göbekli Tepe, Turkey.

Gobekli Tepe is a mystery structure and archaeological site in Turkey. This site has some of the oldest megaliths over 9,000 years old. The site was excavated by a team of German archeologists under the leadership of Klaus Schmidt.

Schmidt believes that the site may be a holy site and not a settlement. According to the geophysical survey there are more than 200 pillars around 20 circles. Each pillar is 20 feet tall and weighs 20 tons. Some believe that this site is probably the oldest temple in the world. But the true purpose of this structure remains a mystery.

2. Hagia Sophia, Istanbul,

Hagia Sophia Is a Greek church built from 537 to 1453. It is an Orthodok East cathedral, an imperial mosque, and is now a museum. The Hagia Sophia Dome demonstrates the epithome of Byzantine architecture that influences the history of architecture in the area. Islamic influence can be found in the structure of this building.

3. Giza Pyramid in Egypt

This ancient luxury building must have been familiar to you, namely the Pyramid in Egypt.

Pyramids in Egypt were built around 2,500 BC using approximately 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing 2 to 50 tons. The area at the base of the Pyramid is 55,000 square meters, each of which has an area of more than 20,000 square meters.

Not only looks magnificent from the outside, in the Pyramid there are also many luxury items such as gold, diamonds, king crowns, cat mummies, fancy clothes, honey, and food.

Besides aiming as a tomb, the Pyramid also aims as an eternal home for the king after death. Therefore, these objects are stored in the Pyramid and are expected to serve and accompany the king in the afterlife.

The thing that is still a mystery and debate in many circles is how the people of Ancient Egypt can build Pyramids only with makeshift tools.

Each stone block was very heavy and they had to arrange it carefully and with a very large number to form a solid Pyramid.

In fact, the best architects in the world are believed to be unable to make luxury buildings like Pyramids.

The reason is, the right technology is needed like that of the Ancient Egyptians to build Pyramids. But unfortunately, until now this question is still a mystery.

4. Sacsayhuamán in Peru

Sacsayhuamán or commonly called Saksaq Waman is an ancient Inca ruins in Cusco, Peru.

Sacsayhuamán is a large fortress built with stone blocks weighing up to 300 tons and is still a mystery until now how the stones were cut, moved and put in place.

It takes about 6,000 cubic meters of stone volume at Sacsayhuamán and several larger stones must be transported more than 80.5 kilometers in steep mountainous terrain.

Remarkably, according to historians, the Incas did not use wheeled vehicles like trains. Therefore, how they carry it is still a mystery.

In the construction of Sacsayhuamán it takes around 20,000 to 30,000 workers and takes around 60 years to complete.

The construction method of Sacsayhuamán is also considered very complicated. The Incas cut and lift large stones to make the walls and stones arranged together without using cement.

Because of the tight arrangement of the stone, a thin knife or piece of paper cannot penetrate the gap between the stones.

Sacsayhuamán is also strong enough to withstand large earthquakes.

Feeling amazed and surprised at the results of the Inca luxurious ancient buildings, there are several Spanish historians who argue that Sacsayhuamán was built by evil spirits and demons.

They also believe that the aliens who built Sacsayhuamán or at least aliens were the ones who taught the Incas how to build Sacsayhuamán.

However, according to the results of the analysis of experts seen from the structure and style of construction, Sacsayhuamán can be ascertained as the work of an Inca engineer.

5. Stonehenge in England

Stonehenge is in Wiltshire, England which is estimated to be built at 3,000 BC.

Stonehenge is an upright stone circle that is within the scope of the earth wall and was built in the Bronze and Neolithic times.

Every stone at Stonehenge is estimated to weigh up to 30 tons.

According to the results of the study, the stones turned out not to be from the surrounding area but came from Wales or around 241 kilometers from Stonehenge.

This raises many questions about the making process, function, and purpose of the stone arrangement at the Stonehenge.

The researchers revealed that Stonehenge had been part of a complex structure in the form of grave mounds, settlements, procession routes and gold burials.

This is according to researchers making Stonehenge to be far more mysterious and complicated than previously thought.

6. Teotihuacán in Mexico

If previously discussed about the Pyramids in Egypt, this time to be discussed are the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacán.

Teotihuacán means "City of Gods" which means the city of the gods was built around 100 BC and is one of the largest cities in ancient civilization.

According to archaeologists, Teotihuacán has a city design from a combination of architecture, mathematics, and astronomy.

Teotihuacán has 3 main areas, including the Quetzalcoatl Temple, the Sun Pyramid and the Moon Pyramid.

Experts also found that there were many similarities between the Pyramids of Egypt and the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacán, one of which was the similarity of the broad area of the two pyramids.

In addition, in the three main areas of Teotihuacán namely the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon have a layout based on the constellation Orion, which is also used in the layout of the Pyramids in Egypt.

7. Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean

Easter Island or in Polynesian language called Rapa Nui is one of the most mysterious islands that until now still has an unsolved puzzle.

One mystery that still remains unanswered is the existence of stone head statues called the Moai Statue weighing up to 14 tons and reaching 4 meters high.

But it was only the weight and height of the head, according to the researchers there were still body parts of the Moai Statue buried beneath it.

Of course it takes a very big effort to build this statue, but until now no one knows exactly the reason the people in Rapa Nui did this very difficult task.

Historians speculate, the Moai Statue was created to honor ancestors, heads, and other important figures, but there is no written evidence of that and also very little oral history on the island so it is impossible to confirm it.

In addition, the condition of the ecosystem in Rapa Nui has also been destroyed. According to some experts, the main factor seems to be due to the cutting of millions of giant trees to clear fields or by making fire.

There is a recent study conducted by an international research team, little by little, successfully uncovering the past of Easter Island.

The results showed that the Rapa Nui population had a more diverse diet and cared for their nature better than previously thought by experts.

8. Great Wall of China in China

You must also be familiar with this luxurious old building, the Great Wall of China.

Stretching as far as 8,851 kilometers makes the Great Wall of China the only longest building ever made by humans.

The construction of the Great Wall of China took more than 2,000 years and the first part of the wall was built as early as the 8th century BC.

There is a conspiracy theory which says that the material used as a building foundation is made of human bones.

But this is denied by experts in building materials. According to them, the material used was available materials at the time such as rocks, wood debris, bricks, clay tiles, and limestone.

To build the Great Wall of China, a lot of labor is needed and according to some studies there are approximately 800,000 people.

9. The temple was replaced in Malta

The temple of Kuilgantija is the earliest temple built from several temples that are typical of megalithic traditions in Malta, even the Temple tuagantija is 1,000 years older than the Pyramids in Egypt and Stonehenge in England.
